Here's the long and complete rules texts of our servers. You will get a short version when joining the source servers, but that does not mean you can ignore this complete one.

The one you get onscreen when joining our source servers appeals to the individual players common sense, courtesy and a sincere wish for some fair and nice play time. But if there is some part of it you think is open for interpretation then take the time to read this long and explaining set first.

Even though you do not get the onscreen rules on our 1.3 server the rules are the same there.

In order to play on the source servers you need to press 1 to accept the on screen rules... but please do read them first as we do not accept a "i did not really read it" excuse later.

If you press 2 you get kicked and if you don't answer within 15 seconds you also get kicked with the message. "sorry you have to agree to our rules in order to play on our servers"

DO NOT USE INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE OR SCREEN NAMES!

DO NOT RECRUIT OR ADVERTISE ON OUR SERVERS!

DO NOT ABUSE VOICE COMS!

DO NOT PESTER PLAYERS FOR RESTRICTED WEAPONS!

DO NOT CHEAT, HACK, ABUSE MAP BUGS OR USE DODGY SCRIPTS!

CLANS TEAMING UP ON ONE SIDE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

RESPECT YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS, BE NICE AND SAY SORRY FOR TKS!

RESPECT THE ADMINS!

First at all:

We strive to provide you a clean and enjoyable place to play Day of Defeat. We provide this at our
own cost - so don't join our servers and act disrespectfully. We will treat you with respect and we
hope to have a good time together with lots of fun, but this can only happen if you play by the rules.

If you would like to play on our servers, then you need to know what we expect from you.
If you can't follow these rules and guidelines, then don't play on our servers.

These rules serve as your advice and warning. Ignorance is not an excuse.
(In simple terms: We will kick or ban you if you don't behave!)

DO NOT INTENTIONALLY TEAM WOUND AND/OR TEAM KILL!

• We run our servers with friendly fire ON. This means that you will injure anyone you shoot,
stab or punch - INCLUDING your teammates.

• ANY intentional team-wounding or team-killing will get you banned. This includes intentional
team-killing during the time immediately before a map change. This childishness is annoying to
say the least and it won't be tolerated.

• Do not retaliate - revenge team kills and/or team wounding will not be tolerated!

• Don't team kill players who seem to be "afk" and think to kill "AFK's is a good excuse!
It isn't! It's just a TK! Nothing else!

• If admins are available, advise them of any problems such as team wounding or team killing.

DO NOT SHOOT IN OR AROUND YOUR OWN SPAWN!

• This implies: Do NOT fire your weapon IN or AROUND your OWN spawn area!
And "Do NOT fire your weapon" also stands for: Do NOT knife, butt-smack, punch, shovel and throw
nades or smoke nades! SO, in order to prevent any accidental wounding, we do not allow anyone to
shoot their weapon while in or near spawn. Save it for the enemy.

DO NOT USE INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE, SCREEN NAMES AND AVATARS!

• Don't come to our server using an offensive, inappropriate or racist screen name.

• Don’t come to our server using an offensive, inappropriate or racist avatar.

• Don't come to our server using any form of offensive language (written or spoken). We won't
tolerate foul language, racism, harassment or general stupidity.

• If you are unnamed, you will be asked to change it. If you won’t, it will result in either
being kicked, or banned.

DO NOT RECRUIT OR ADVERTISE ON OUR SERVERS!

• Please don't come to our server in an attempt to recruit for your clan. If you want to build
your clan membership, do it the old fashioned way - open a server and wait for people to log on.
We consider it extremely rude to harass our server regulars about joining other clans. Anyone caught
recruiting on our server will be banned permanently. NO RECRUITING ALLOWED! If you want to harass
people with unsolicited offers to join your clan...visit ANY server other than ours. Also don't bother us with
your clan or website advertisement! We don't want to see any kind of advertising other than our own!

DO NOT ABUSE VOICE COMS!

• Don't abuse the voice channel. If you choose to say stupid things or just act intrusive, obnoxious or
excessive on the voice channel - you will be muted. Be considerate of others and try to keep unnecessary
chat to a minimum. This also means: Don't use the predefined voice commands too excessive!

DO NOT PESTER AND/OR TEAM KILL PLAYERS FOR RESTRICTED WEAPONS!

• If you harass and/or team kill another player for any of the restricted weapons such as the MG or
Sniper Rifle, you may be kicked or banned from the game. Some players may need practice at using them.

DO NOT CHEAT, HACK, ABUSE MAP BUGS OR USE DODGY SCRIPTS!

• Hacks, cheats, dodgy scripts and abuse of map exploits are strictly prohibited. If you are caught
using any of these - consider yourself BANNED forever. You can be a LOSER on some other server.

• If you know about hacks, cheats, scripts and map exploits: Keep it under your hat! Publishing your
knowledge will result in a perm ban!

• Don't attempt to accuse ANY player on this server of cheating. Simply record a demo of the player
you suspect and post it on the website.

• Don't EVER attempt to accuse any admin of cheating. We play with the highest level of integrity
when it comes to cheats. We DON'T use them and we WON'T use them.

CLANS TEAMING UP ON ONE SIDE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

• All clan members are welcome on our servers, we respect them and we allow using their clan tags.
We espouse team work and cooperation at any time, but we are not running a clan server respectively
a training server for clans where their members can exercise and improve their game play. That means:
Don’t act on our servers as if they are your own clan servers!

• So that our regular players don’t have the feeling to play against a whole clan, clan members must
split up to be even on both sides! If there is no chance to even up both sides, the clan members can
play on the same team until there is an open slot on the other team.

• At any time all clans are responsible for checking out if there is the possibility to join the
other team. If clan members are not to be willing to do the swap or if admins have to ask them again
and again, it will result in kicks or bans of individual or all clan members playing at this time on
our servers.

RESPECT YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS, BE NICE AND SAY SORRY FOR TEAM KILLINGS!

• Don't ridicule other players (especially if they are newbies). Help them out if you can - otherwise
just be patient. Remember that you were new to DOD at one point also. If you choose to act offensively
toward other players - the admins will abuse you.

• Also - don't be rude or selfish in your play style. We consider such things as sprinting out in
front of your team members to grab a flag or to steel a team members aiming spot VERY RUDE. Part of
respect is thinking more highly of your teammates than yourself. As long as the team is doing well,
you shouldn't be concerned about your personal score or stats.

• Saying sorry for team killings is common courtesy! Forgiving accidental team killings, too!

• Do not get into an abusive conversation about the actions of another player on the server.

• Be a fair winner - don't mock the losing team

• Be a fair loser - don't moan about the defeat and do not switch to spectator at round end if your team loses.
Be a sportsman and take it all calmly!

RESPECT THE ADMINS!

• Respect and listen to the admins! They are here to help you. A disrespectful attitude is the fastest
way to banishment on our servers. None of the admins enjoys baby-sitting on the servers - so if you
make us waste our time dealing with your attitude - we will return the favor.

• Also - don't come to our servers trying to tell us how to run them or telling us that we have stupid rules, etc.
To make things clear: These are our servers and these are our rules! If you can’t live with it, feel free to leave!

• During the day we have a map rotation on our servers (except for the Ava 24/7 server).
On our 'regular' source server we have a map rotation with standard maps and on the 1.3 server with a mix
of standard and custom maps. Past experience has shown us that these maps fulfill our servers the most time.
If you want another map, then don't demand it! If an admin is on the server, ask him in a nice way to choose
a custom map or a map of your desire.

• We provide and play this game for fun - don't come to our house and start complaining about this and that.

• Admins decision is final!

RESERVED SLOTS

• Slots are reserved for admins only - you may get automatically kicked if the server is full and an
admin logs on - so don't take it personally - just keep trying to log in.

(It would be quite unfair if someone gets kicked who is actually playing than someone who is blocking a
players slot as spectator! So do NOT idle in spectator mode on a full server! Please leave the server if
you won't/can't play for the moment and open your slot for others!)

HIGH PINGS

• If your pings are too high please leave the servers and try to fix it! Otherwise it is possible
that you will lag the servers! If you won't to leave and fix it we reserve the right to kick you.

PLEASE SPEAK / WRITE ENGLISH!

• Our servers are located in England. They are international with players from all over the world.
To ensure that all players can understand everyone, we kindly ask you and expect from you to speak
and/or to write English within the game! Of course you can make short remarks in your own language,
but please limit it to a minimum! If you use another language than English too excessive, we reserve
the right to intervene against it!

At last we all want to have a good time and we hope you enjoy playing on the TLO servers!
